[斋戒月攻略!] 盘点Ramadhan Bazaar 必吃美食! | Ramadhan Bazaar All Time Favourite

As Malaysians, we all know that Bazaar Ramadan is the most anticipating time not only for Muslims but also for non-Muslims. Happened once in every year for a month period, we tend to miss and look forward to indulging all the delicious local foods. So, what is Malaysian all-time favourite pick from Bazaar Ramadan?

1. Murtabak

A square shape wraps filled with different ingredients especially meats (chicken, beef, lamb), veggies with beaten eggs and spices. Murtabak is definitely one of the best buys during the Bazaar Ramadan period and we all could not agree more. Comes with different sauces such as curry or pickled onions. One Murtabak is not going to be enough for you, so make sure to order more!  Is not just a hot, delicious, warmful snack but it could be a wholesome meal for iftar too!

2. Satay

Yes, this dish is famous for its char and juicy meat on skewers or in another word, Satay! Super fragrance and mouth-watering from simple ingredients like spices, meat (your choice), garlic, shallots, and lemongrass. Not to forget Satay always comes with the infamous spicy peanuts sauce gravy, served with slices of lontong or ketupat (rice cakes), raw onions and cucumber. Remember to ask for extra kuah kacang because you need it more than you think. It is indeed a must-pick for all Malaysians whether it is the time of Ramadan or not.

3. Kuih-Muih

Kuih-Muih is one of the best local snacks to any Malaysians and it will never fail our appetites. Many of the kuih come with colorful, different shapes and sizes. With their chewy or crunchy textures that are appetizing to our taste. From traditional kuih-muih like tepung pelita, kuih lapis to modern treats like bomboloni and sweet tarts. It is surely hard to resist yourself from buying it because who doesn’t like Kuih-Muih?!

4. Salai Daging

The word Salai was actually translated as “Smoked”. Of course, we see many different types of salai meat being sold at any Bazaar Ramadan. Such as Ayam Salai, Daging Salai, Itik Salai and Kambing Salai. This is surely one of the foods that you would not resist from buying because who doesn’t like to have BBQ-fish dinner? Not only is it smoke till fragrant but it is juicy and seasoned perfectly. Cook to perfection with a peppery taste and a little kick of heat.  Even though it is mahal sikit, it is really worth it to give it a try. So, what are you guys waiting for? Go get it now at any Bazaar Ramadhan near you!

5. Air Bancuh (Teh, Air Manis, Limau Bandung)

Hold on! Let’s not forget about the drinks, okay?  Drinks are also one of the best sights during the Bazaar Ramadan, especially Air Bancuh. We tend to see a lot of stalls set up with their own unique drinks from Air Soda Herbal to Cendol in a cup or the simple drink which is Air Sirap. After a long day of puasa or sunny day, with those cold, sweet or refreshing drinks, FUH MEMANG SYOK GILER! Remember to ask the drink to your liking, maybe kurang manis sikit or kasi banyak ice !
